The City of Mauldin 2024 Summer College Internship Program is a paid program that is available to college students currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. Whether you are interested in managing sports facilities or encouraging economic development in a municipality, the City of Mauldin has a place where you can learn and gain skills that can help you in your future career.

Cultural Affairs Volunteer

Fire Department

Firefighter

The Mauldin Fire Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Firefighter.

Under supervision of the station officer, the firefighter will provide responsible work for the daily delivery of services such as fire suppression, emergency medical first response, fire prevention, pre-fire planning, technical rescue and hazardous materials response. The firefighter is responsible for participating in physical fitness and firefighter training with their assigned crew each shift. This person will assist their assigned crew in maintaining a competent level of operational readiness of their assigned station and department apparatus.

Police Department

Patrol Officer

This position provides highly responsible law enforcement and crime prevention functions for the Police Department. Responsibilities include enforcing laws and ordinances, investigating misdemeanor and felony crimes, arresting offenders of the law, responding to dispatch calls involving traffic accidents, medical and other emergencies, civil disputes, family disturbances and other calls requiring police assistance.

School Resource Officer (SRO)

This position provides highly responsible law enforcement and crime prevention functions at educational institutions within the City. School Resource Officers enforce laws and ordinances, investigate misdemeanor and felony crimes, arrest offenders of the law, and respond to calls for service requiring police assistance. Officers in this position are encouraged to educate and mentor students daily.

Public Works Department

Parks and Grounds Laborer

This position’s duties include mowing lawn, emptying trash, cleaning restrooms, and providing for the overall upkeep and proper working order of the city’s recreational parks and fields. This position is responsible for all parks, City Hall, the Sports Center, the Cultural Center, and the Bi-Lo trail, as well as all roadsides, sidewalks, exit ramps on 385 at Butler and Bridges, the bridge coming into Mauldin on 276, and the new entranceway signs. The Mauldin Sports Center is seeking a Fit Kids Monitor. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for young children to preteens (3-14 yrs. old). Duties include coming up with creative, fun, fitness-related and sometimes educational activities.
