The Mauldin Cultural Center will kick off its summer season with Amp’d Up Fridays presented by Duke Energy, a concert series running every Friday night from May 26 through July 28 at the outdoor amphitheater behind the cultural center at 101 E. Butler Rd. The free concerts will feature beach music, classic rock, pop and more, as well as a variety of food and beverage vendors. All shows begin at 7 p.m.

“We are excited to welcome back some old favorites and see new faces at this year’s Amp’d Up Fridays,” Mauldin Cultural Center Manager Christine Faust said. “This fresh take on our summer concert series has a little something for everyone.”

Amp’d Up Fridays was formerly known as Beachin’ Fridays, a summer concert series launched in 2015 that drew people from across the Upstate for evenings of live beach music, shag dancing, food, and beer and wine. This year, the music roster has been expanded to include classic rock, pop, R&B, soul and more, while still featuring plenty of beach music favorites.

The lineup of performers is as follows:

  • May 26 | The Vinyl Junkies
  • June 2 | The Shag Doctorz
  • June 9 | Rhythm City Band
  • June 16 | The Mighty Kicks!
  • June 23 | The Tams
  • June 30 | The Flashbacks
  • July 7 | The Holiday Band
  • July 14 | The Jamie Wright Band
  • July 21 | The Entertainers
  • July 28 | The Catalinas

“This is a fantastic concert series that brings our community together every summer,” Mayor Terry Merritt said. “Since 2015, this has become one of the most popular events in our city and one of the highlights of summer, and I’m looking forward to more great music, food and fun this year.”

A variety of food trucks are scheduled to be on site for each show, including HipBurger, Nard’s Backyard BBQ, Mac Attack, One Love Fusion Foods, Taco Brothers, Obey the Crave, Kona Ice, Chocolate Artworks and Sunset Slush, along with beer and wine provided by Growler Haus. Outside food and beverages are prohibited.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the outdoor performances, and leashed dogs are allowed. In the event of inclement weather, the cultural center will provide updates on Facebook, Instagram and on the cultural center website.

The concert series is sponsored by Duke Energy. The finale concert on Friday, July 28 will feature a fireworks display sponsored by United Community Bank.
