We made it through Winter Storm Gianna! As of Sunday afternoon, road conditions have vastly improved and most primary, secondary and neighborhood roads are clear, with the exception of some shaded spots that Public Works plans to clear on Monday. However, with temperatures dropping back into the teens tonight, any moisture remaining on the roads will refreeze and create slick conditions, so please exercise caution if you need to drive after dark.
We have several updates to share for the upcoming week:
- Trash pickup will run on Monday, Feb. 2, beginning at approximately 9 am to allow the roads some time to thaw, and will run on a regular schedule for the rest of the week.
- Preliminary hearings scheduled for Municipal Court on Monday have been CANCELLED and will be rescheduled.
- City offices including City Hall, the Mauldin Cultural Center, Mauldin Sports Center and Ray W. Hopkins Mauldin Senior Center will open at 10 am on Monday.
- Ashmore Bridge Road has reopened between Sonoma Drive and Fowler Circle. Public Works treated the area on Sunday in addition to clearing snow throughout the City.
- Parks, trails and the Mauldin GateWay Bridge remain closed until staff have a chance to inspect them and ensure their safety.
- Committee Meetings will take place at 6 pm at City Hall as scheduled. Public Safety and Public Works committees are scheduled to meet.
Stay tuned to our website and social media for any additional updates and please continue to stay safe!
