SCDOT to close part of Ashmore Bridge Road for emergency bridge repairs

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will close and detour part of Ashmore Bridge Road in Greenville County for emergency bridge repairs beginning Thursday, July 3. SCDOT will be closing the Reedy River bridge crossing for at least 30 days to complete emergency repairs.

As part of this closure, a detour route will be set up. A map of the closure and detour along with directions can be found below. Please note that Ashmore Bridge Road will be open to local traffic only, except at the bridge site.

DETOUR

Eastbound Pleasant Hill Road: Drivers traveling Eastbound on Ashmore Bridge Road will turn North on Fork Shoals Road, then East on Conestee Road, then East on West Butler Road, then South on Ashmore Bridge Road.

Westbound Pleasant Hill Road: Drivers traveling Westbound on Ashmore Bridge Road will turn on West Butler Road, then West on Conestee Road, then South on Fork Shoals Road, then East on Ashmore Bridge Road.

Motorists are asked to plan accordingly and allow extra time for the detour. SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near a work zone.
