No, it’s not an April Fools joke! The new intersection and railroad crossing at Jenkins Street, Murray Drive and Hyde Circle officially opens on Wednesday, April 1, and the four-way stop becomes effective at 10 am. Stop signs on Murray Drive are currently installed but covered, and will be uncovered at 10 am when the intersection will become a four-way stop.
Please note, the stop signs on Jenkins Street heading towards Murray Drive are located BEFORE the railroad crossing.
Members of the Mauldin Police Department’s traffic team will be posted at the intersection on Wednesday to monitor traffic. Please exercise caution at this intersection during the transition period as drivers get accustomed to the new traffic pattern.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience throughout this process!
