Mauldin Police Department to Host Third Annual Lend-a-Paw on Nov. 1

The Mauldin Police Department will host the third annual Lend-a-Paw event to help dogs in need on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hollywood Feed (2200 Woodruff Rd., Unit 500 in Simpsonville). Members of MPD will be filling cop cars with donations of dog food and other pet-related supplies to benefit Greenville County Animal Care (GCAC). There will also be dogs onsite available for adoption through GCAC and Lucky Pup Rescue.

Community members are encouraged to donate dog food as well as pet-related supplies such as dry cat food, kitty litter, fleece blankets, towels, large Kong toys, and canned pate-style dog food and cat food. For those who can’t make the event, donations will be accepted at the following locations from Monday, Oct. 27 through Friday, Oct. 31:

  • Mauldin City Hall (5 E. Butler Rd)
  • Mauldin Cultural Center (101 E. Butler Rd)
  • Mauldin Sports Center (10 City Center Dr)
  • Mauldin Senior Center (203 Corn Rd)
  • Mauldin Fire Department Headquarters (955 W. Butler Rd, Greenville, SC)

Organizers say the event supports the local shelter by facilitating adoptions that will free up space, and it helps the community by providing food and supplies for GCAC’s food pantry, which assists pet owners experiencing financial challenges so they can keep their pets during hard times.

“We’ve had a great turnout the past two years, and we hope community members will continue to come out and support a great cause,” said event organizer Sgt. Harley Sefcik. “Seeing our police cars packed with pet food and supplies shows just how much our community cares. With just a small donation, people can make a big difference for pets in need, and we’re grateful to everyone who joins us in this effort.”
