As of Thursday, March 28, Jenkins Street has reopened to through traffic after closing the section from N. Main Street (Route 276) to Murray Drive on Feb. 5.
During the closure, Southern Concrete and Construction realigned and rebuilt Jenkins Street, turning the curved portion of the street into a T-intersection in preparation for a new railroad crossing to Murray Drive.
Motorists should be advised that there are now stop signs in place for both directions of traffic.
