Greenlink accepting applications for 2021 Citizens Transit Academy

Greenlink is currently accepting applications for its 2021 Citizens Transit Academy.

Greenlink’s Citizens Transit Academy is a free, six-week program designed to offer Greenville County residents a unique opportunity to learn about public transportation and the opportunities and challenges facing Greenlink. Up to 30 people will be selected from the pool of applicants and classes will be held virtually on Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. An option to meet in-person may be available if COVID-19 conditions are safe enough to resume gatherings. The class schedule is below:

January 5, 2021 Introductions, CTA overview and Greenlink services
January 12, 2021 Operations and safety, Transit Center virtual tour and technology
January 19, 2021 Finances, capital needs and maintenance facility discussion
January 26, 2021 Service change procedures, bus stops and route planning
February 2, 2021 Transit Development Plan and other community efforts
February 9, 2021 Group takeaways and graduation

Graduates of the Citizens Transit Academy will be recognized as knowledgeable representatives for public transit and encouraged to serve in leadership roles and seek opportunities to engage the community in conversations about transit.

Applications are due October 31.
