Drug Take Back Day – Mauldin Fire Department, Mauldin Police Department

The Mauldin Fire Department and Mauldin Police Department invite the community to participate in the annual DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 25. This nationwide initiative, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration, provides a safe and convenient way for individuals to dispose of unused or expired medications. The City of Mauldin will host a local drop-off site at RIZE Prevention’s new facility at 218 New Neely Ferry Rd., making it easy for residents to participate.
This will be a drive-thru event, allowing participants to simply pull up, drop off their medications, and continue on their way. The event will accept solid medications such as tablets, capsules, and pills that are within a container for proper disposal; however, loose pills, liquids, patches, creams, ointments, and inhalers will not be accepted.
Participants will also have the opportunity to receive free giveaway items provided by the City and partnering organizations while supplies last. Proper medication disposal plays an important role in preventing accidental misuse or overdose, keeping medications out of the wrong hands, and protecting the environment from improper disposal methods.
Come join us in building a healthier and safer Mauldin!
