By July 11, 2019No Comments

Mauldin is welcoming back the Annual DJ Jones Football Camp! Greenville native DJ Jones played football in the Upstate at Carolina High School, Wren High School, and D.W. Daniel High School. He then went on to play collegiately Eastern Mississippi Community College, then finishing college at the University of Mississippi. In 2016 while playing at University of Mississippi, DJ was honored as the most improved player on defense. The 2017 NFL draft saw DJ selected in the sixth round as the 198th pick by the San Francisco 49ers. Over the past two seasons, DJ’s playing time has increased each year. For the upcoming 2019 season DJ hopes to enjoy regular playing time on the defensive line for the 49ers.

Working with his father, David O. Jones Sr., the DJ Jones Foundation was founded in 2018. The mission of the foundation is to help underserved communities, including homeless and foster care children, to overcome adversity by teaching them leadership, discipline, and healthy lifestyle skills in a safe and fun environment.

The Second Annual DJ Jones Football Camp will be held at Springfield Park on July 13th from 10am until 2pm. This camp is free for ages 8-15. For more information please call 864-973-3899.
