City of Mauldin to Host Community Forum on 1% Sales Tax on Sept. 24

The City of Mauldin will host a community forum on the proposed 1% sales tax on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The forum is designed to help residents better understand the penny tax that will be on the ballot this November and what it could mean for our city.

A moderator-led panel will provide information about the proposed sales tax, including how revenue would be used to fund road and infrastructure improvements in Mauldin and provide tax credits for homeowners.

The panel will be moderated by Assistant City Administrator Gregory Saxton, and panelists will include:

  • City Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem Taft Matney
  • City Administrator Seth Duncan
  • Fire Chief Brian McHone
  • Public Works Director Matthew Fleahman

This is an opportunity to learn more, hear directly from city leaders and ask questions about the sales tax. Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!
