The City of Mauldin was excited to welcome WSPA 7News to BridgeWay Station for its recent Zip Trip and First Responder Friday broadcasts on Friday, June 26. The morning highlighted local businesses, community organizations, city leadership and first responders who help make Mauldin a vibrant and welcoming place to live, work and visit.

First Responder Friday
Members of the Mauldin Fire Department and Mauldin Police Department showcased innovative programs and technology that help keep our community safe every day:
- Fire Marshal Don Hall demonstrated the Mauldin Fire Department’s digital fire extinguisher training system.
- Opioid Risk Coordinator Sam Garrison discussed the department’s new Opioid Response Program.
- Corporal Cecilio Reyes highlighted the Mauldin Police Department’s use of Axon technology, including body cameras, dash cameras, Tasers and virtual reality training.
- Lieutenant James Madden showcased the department’s new drone program, including a live aerial view of the broadcast.
