The following news release was provided by Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC).

Alo, one of the world’s leading suppliers in the agricultural machinery industry, has announced plans to establish operations in the City of Mauldin in Greenville County, South Carolina. The $6 million investment is expected to create at least 44 new jobs over the next five years.

“Following an extensive evaluation, Alo has selected Greenville County, South Carolina, as the ideal location for our company to further strengthen service to our customers and reinforce our commitment to the North American market,” said Alo Group CEO Niklas Astrom. “We look forward to becoming part of the thriving business community in Greenville County.”

Located at 130 Monroe Drive, Alo’s Greenville County operations will include the distribution of farming equipment manufactured by the company at multiple global locations. Distribution will be mainly for the U.S. market.

“Today’s announcement by Alo is a testament to the distribution advantages and pro-business environment that South Carolina offers. We welcome Alo to Greenville County and look forward to watching the company thrive,” said South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster.

Operations will also include steel fabrication of made-to-order mounting kits for the agricultural equipment, as well as assembly of products and hydraulic kits. The fabrication itself will incorporate plasma cutting, machining, forming and welding.

“An ideal destination for business, South Carolina boasts tremendous transportation and logistics advantages,” added South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt. “I applaud Alo for establishing operations in the Palmetto State and look forward to them becoming a thriving member of our Upstate business community.”

“We are very excited that Alo is moving its world-class agricultural machinery operation to Greenville County. Alo has been developing and manufacturing high-quality loaders and implements for 70 years, and was first to offer a drive-in front loader and digital loader, among other products,” said Greenville County Council Chairman and Board Member of the Greenville Area Development Corporation H.G. “Butch” Kirven. “Greenville County offers the best location for Alo to align with its suppliers and customer base.”

“As a leader in the agricultural machinery industry, Alo had no shortage of options on where to locate their state-of-the-art facility,” said City of Mauldin Mayor Dennis Raines. “With their corresponding investment and new positions, we’re delighted that they have selected the City of Mauldin. The company will undoubtedly become a valued member of our business community, and a great asset to our growing city.”

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project. New operations are projected to come online in October 2019. Individuals looking to join Alo can visit https://recruiting.paylocity.com/recruiting/jobs/List/6109/Alo-TN-Inc.
