The City of Mauldin was ranked the fourth best city in South Carolina by USA Today Homefront, based on a 2024 study that ranked 26 cities in the state across 16 quality-of-life metrics. The publication mentioned the City’s location, recreational activities, diverse cultural events and housing affordability as key features that make it one of the best places to live in the state.
According to USA Today: “Mauldin performed well in our analysis mainly for affordability, with the fourth-lowest home value-to-income ratio (3.7) and the lowest percentage (36%) of rent-burdened residents of all the cities we ranked.”
