The Mauldin Cultural Center is launching a new event that’s sure to become the City’s next fall tradition with Friday Night Flicks, an outdoor movie series that kicks off on Oct. 6 with the electrifying “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.”
The family-friendly series features a movie every Friday night in October, with a mix of genres that offer a little something for everyone — from sci-fi and action to a celebration of spooky season.
All movies begin at dusk at the Cultural Center’s outdoor amphitheater at 101 E. Butler Rd.
“We wanted to offer a new way for community members to gather at the outdoor amphitheater in the fall season,” said Cultural Center Manager Christine Faust. “Friday Night Flicks is a fun and easy way to enjoy the crisp weather with friends and family while relaxing under the stars.”
The film lineup is as follows:
Oct. 6 – “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” (PG) | Approx. 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 13 – “Coco” (PG) | Approx. 7:20 p.m.
Oct. 20 – “Top Gun: Maverick” (PG-13) | Approx. 7:15 p.m.
Oct. 27 – “The Addams Family” (PG-13) | Approx. 7:10 p.m.
Guests are welcome to bring blankets or lawn chairs as well as outside food and non-alcoholic beverages. The Mauldin Sports Center will be giving away free popcorn, and Obey the Crave will be on site with fresh-baked cookies and Cuban coffee available for purchase.
Parking and entry are free, and leashed dogs are allowed. In case of inclement weather, information about cancellations will be provided on the Mauldin Cultural Center’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
Friday Night Flicks is the latest addition to the Mauldin Cultural Center’s popular event lineup, which includes the Mauldin Blues & Jazz Festival, Amp’d Up Fridays and the SOOIE. BBQ Cook-off.
