Women’s Self-Defense Training — Mauldin Police Department

May 13 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Trigger warning: this post contains references to themes of sexual assault, which some individuals may find distressing.

In the Mauldin Police Department’s Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) program, it only takes a few hours a couple of nights a week for participants to learn how to defend themselves in the event of an attack. The class teaches students simple, realistic self-defense maneuvers and gives them tips about how to recognize and reduce risk in different types of situations.

The free program is open to women age 14+ and includes classes on May 13, May 20 and May 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Mauldin Fire Department headquarters at 955 W. Butler Rd.

The registration deadline is May 6, and spots are limited to 10 individuals. To register, click here.
