On Wednesday, October 30, the City of Mauldin, Hughes Investments and the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty soccer clubs announced plans to build a 10,000-seat, multi-use sports and entertainment stadium at BridgeWay Station.
In addition to being the permanent home for the Triumph and Liberty soccer clubs, the stadium will host youth sports, concerts, festivals and various community events.
Mayor Terry Merritt said the stadium will be an asset to the community and called it a “game-changer” for the City of Mauldin, the entire Upstate region and beyond.
“This project is another example of how we’re investing in the future of our growing community, bringing people together and becoming a destination in our own right,” Merritt said.
The stadium is expected to break ground in early 2025, with a planned opening in 2026.

Additional details about the project:
Agreement Details
- Under the terms of the development agreement, the City of Mauldin will own the facility and lease it to Greenville Pro Soccer for a 30-year term, with two 10-year renewal terms.
Funding
- The bulk of the funding for the stadium will come from Greenville Pro Soccer. The State of South Carolina is contributing $10 million and the City has committed to $4 million in hospitality and accommodations tax funds.
Traffic/Parking
- The City and its partners will be taking steps to address traffic concerns. There will be a parking and traffic plan in place for all event activities, and we are exploring longer-term traffic improvements in the area as well. Parking plans will involve additional offsite parking areas and then shuttling people to and from the stadium. BridgeWay Station may explore providing additional onsite parking in the future as well, at their discretion.
Noise
- Noise ordinances will still apply and all events will be required to end by 11 p.m. The stadium will also be designed with noise reduction as a key consideration, to mitigate any impact to surrounding communities as well as the residents at Bridgeway. View the City’s noise ordinance here.
