Amp’d Up Fridays Concert Series Kicks Off May 24 at the Mauldin Cultural Center

By May 3, 2024No Comments

The Mauldin Cultural Center will kick off its summer season with Amp’d Up Fridays presented by Duke Energy & Piedmont Natural Gas, a concert series running every Friday night from May 24 to July 26. The free concerts will feature beach music, rock, country, soul and more, as well as a variety of food trucks and beer and wine from Growler Haus. All shows begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Mauldin Cultural Center outdoor amphitheater at 101 E. Butler Rd.

“We are excited to welcome a few new bands like the Swingin’ Medallions and Randomonium to the Amp’d Up stage this year,” Mauldin Cultural Center Manager Christine Faust said. “It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate 10 years of summer concerts with a bang.”

This is the 10th year for Mauldin’s popular summer concert series, which was previously known as Beachin’ Fridays. The series was rebranded to Amp’d Up Fridays in 2023 as the music roster expanded to include additional genres while still featuring plenty of beach music favorites. New this year, each concert will feature a Non-Profit of the Week that will be set up on site to raise awareness about their mission and connect with the community.

This year’s lineup of performers is as follows:

  • May 24 | Swingin’ Medallions
  • May 31 | The Mighty Kicks!
  • June 7 | The Entertainers
  • June 14 | The Shag Doctorz
  • June 21 | Sole Purpose Band
  • June 28 | Rhythm City Band
  • July 5 | James Radford Band
  • July 12 | Randomonium
  • July 19 | The Catalinas
  • July 26 | The Vinyl Junkies

The finale on July 26 will feature a fireworks show sponsored by United Community Bank following The Vinyl Junkies’ performance.

“Amp’d Up Fridays has become a staple of summer in our community, and we’re excited to welcome everyone back to the Mauldin Cultural Center amphitheater this year,” Mayor Terry Merritt said. “These concerts are the perfect way to spend a warm summer night with friends and family enjoying all the great food, music and fun Mauldin has to offer.”

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the outdoor performances, and leashed dogs are allowed.

Outside food and beverages, smoking, tents, weapons, bikes, scooters and skateboards are prohibited. In the event of inclement weather, all weather-related announcements will be made via the Mauldin Cultural Center’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
