Memorial Day Ceremony Planned for May 27; City Offices Closed, Trash Pickup Delayed to May 28

City of Mauldin offices will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day, and there will be no trash pickup on that day. All curbside trash and recycling collection scheduled for Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, May 28.

Also on May 27, the City of Mauldin will hold a Memorial Day ceremony honoring those who have given their lives in service to our country. All are welcome to attend the ceremony, which will begin at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in front of the Mauldin Cultural Center at 101 E Butler Rd.

The program will include the following:

  • Welcome | Seth Duncan, City Administrator
  • Opening Prayer
  • Posting of Colors | American Legion Post 271
  • National Anthem | Kati Lippman
  • Pledge of Allegiance
  • Meaning of Memorial Day | Representative from American Legion Post 271
  • Introduction of Keynote Speaker | Mayor Terry Merritt
  • Keynote Speaker | Pat Fensom, CSM(R)
  • Musical Selection | Kati Lippman
  • Closing Prayer
  • Placement of Wreaths | Disabled American Veterans
  • Sounding of Taps | Stephen Goshorn
  • Retiring of Colors | American Legion Post 271
