UPDATE 7.5.19: Concert featuring 246 Army Band cancelled, Fireworks postponed
The July 5th concert at the Mauldin Cultural Center featuring the 246 Army Band will be cancelled, and the fireworks display will be postponed until the Beachin’ Fridays finale on Friday, July 26th. This decision was made between all parties involved after reviewing NOAA’s latest weather update, which includes potential lighting and thunderstorms beginning at 6:30 p.m. this evening.
The possibility of storms makes it untenable to setup fireworks in a timely manner. The 246 Army Band will not perform in the interest of the band members’ safety.
More information about Beachin’ Fridays and other events at the Mauldin Cultural Center can be found at mauldinculturalcenter.org.
Beachin’ Fridays started in 2015, bringing the beach music scene to Mauldin. People come from all over the Upstate converge on the Mauldin Outdoor Amphitheater for evenings of shag dancing, beer and wine from Growler Haus, and food trucks. This year’s fireworks are on July 5 after a special patriotic performance by the Army 246 Band!
